Mind Magnet – Episode 5 - The Last ride – beginning of end

It was getting into groove as the talks were getting serious about her marriage.

Gautam Helped Sherly in Shape up her career, lend a helping hand in case of every dilemma, maneuvered her through every crisis, may it be personal or professional, even in her relationship between Rohit. Now there was one more time she was seeking Gautam’s hand for this very situation.

Gautam’s first reaction was “Are you insane?? You father don’t even know me. How do I help, he would kill me, first you rejected me now you want me to get killed?” Somehow Sherly convinced him to talk, you know you can’t get away from the girl’s secret weapon. Any which ways  Gautam was never  going to compromise on Shery’s wish. Hours of planning and talking between them and then they made a plan.

Gautam went Kerala with Sherly to talk to her father. He never felt that skittish before, needed somebody to hold up his nerves. Sherly was busy explain do’s and don’ts where he was searching for washroom. He went there and rehearsed several attempts in front of mirror. After a while he came out, bit shaky bit edgy in his approach walked through the passage of uncertainty, nearing Sherly’s father and said “Hello Sir”.

“Yes” hearing the heavy voice made the stream of vibration flow through him like electric current fluttered him completely for a second.

Somehow he managed to gain some energy back calming his veins he started again, “Sir I have come up with proposal for Sherly”

Sherly’s father was as adamant as Sherly, Gautam concluded immediately, unreasonably outrageous in proving his every point. He was victim of narcissism with attitude of I can never go wrong. Carefully listening to everything Gautam plunked a point “Sir all you want and your efforts are to make her happy isn’t it?”  This had obvious reply “All I want does not differs even by cent with your notion. Just believe me I want to tie hands for common cause, she is and will be happy forever. I guarantee you, trust me”

Her father turned back, feared Gautam closed his eyes that was all he prepared and if it would take any more efforts Gautam would be in scarcity of words.

Hopeless was he totally with dumbstruck face went back to Sherly, and she started crying. Gautam started to roar with laughter and informed her about her father’s agreement, to which Sherly hugged him and kissed him. This was the first time when Gautam had Sherly by his arms and he just wanted the clock to standstill in that moment for forever.    

It’s been two years now, Sherly got married. Well, miracles don’t happen in real world. She has been happily married to Rohit, but she is still best friend of Gautam. He silently plays crucial role in her life. Sherly and Gautam share everything fearlessly between them that sometimes boys are frightened off.

Gautam choose to go onsite with remainders of Sherly to settle himself but she would never let that as now Gautam was her habit now. Gautam was happy as he got what he craved about, that is togetherness with Sherly, may be not exactly as he wanted but this was more than enough than he ever expected.   

Gautam is 32 now still waiting for someone from God’s Secret vault to spell out her Sherly . He still looks the same with little more white hairs.

While reading a novel “Brida” initially loosely resemble the title girl with Sherly only to have little chuckle at the plot while he was relaxing at his desk.

It was than a message came and he went quickly to parking lot to meet someone. There he found a bouquet with red roses, card in nicely wrapped bag when the rain was outside making perfect romantic ambiance. Name on letter was mentioned as Shreya who had proposed Gautam. She was close clone of Sherly and  knew her for about 2 months but never noticed her or even the fact that she was getting intrigued to him.

While reading through it Gautam had the same scoffing laugh he had while he was dejected by Sherly. He had the same expression to express joy or sorrow for anybody to understand him. It ended with loud sound of “HAHA” by Gautam.

Mind Magnet – Episode 4 - Aftershock

It took some time for Gautam to get out of those blue days. He had tough character and had seen struggle all of his life, Grappled his way back to become triumphant. Gautam had thoughts like ocean and he could not curb it. Good think was he had control over himself. He was no cribber, neither pessimist, all off these years he learned to be happy despite against all odds because deep down he knew eventually everything will work out fine. Best part was with astounding control on oneself he could still have smiling face again the next day. It was just next to impossible to know him and find the agony buried behind the smiling face of his even for his close aid.

He had Sherly in his head like a mind magnet and so was Sherly pursuing similar feeling for him. But, This was nameless phenomenon often misleads as betrayal to this so called hypocrite society, that does not understands veracious sentiments of human species. For which their love was pure but situation had no cure.

Gautam initially was not ready to give up, hoping some miraculous wonder to happen. One of the reason hidden behind was maybe he knew the only thing he would failed was to forget Sherly ever and it was important to save his own self from being shattered or panicking for anybody to read off his face.

As the time elapsed he found out the great answer within himself for his situation that, ”The purpose was more important than the outcome”. His love for her was significant purpose whether, what Sherly does was immaterial. He had feeling of remorse of pushing her too much even after she made it clear what was not possible. He made a talk to himself that “Since I love her I would do everything I could for her, with no expectation at all in return, and I wouldn’t make our lives miserable for which she would be crestfallen in future”.  

Things got better off slowly. It took some zealous efforts and some time for Sherly to be at her comforts with Gautam again. Vigilant in their approach they soon started finding amenity in this ally. Marching towards making greatest companionship they continued under the new name of friendship. Although  Rohit was Sherly’s love interest but not the last “Bye” and the first “Hi” anymore.

Sherly was no courageous to spell the truth about her friendship with Gautam to Rohit so she too kept it a little secret and she was alright about it, surprisingly, thriving affinity was cause of concern for Gautam now. He loved and desired her but did not wanted to walk through somebodies broken dreams, this time victim would be Rohit and may be Sherly too.

Gautam did everything he could to play his part to be true to himself and justify his love, without letting her knew about it, Sherly’s perception had turned 360 degrees for him after seeing perceptive figure within him.

Sherly was now quite depended on Gautam and every decision had influenced by him and there came the most imperative call to be made, There was talk about Sherly’s marriage at he home.          

What should Sherly do ? what is therse in her mind?  On the top of this, her father was orthodox and had been looking for someone for Sherly.

Mind Magnet –Episode 3 – Unknown truth

Well lets unfold another portion of this amazing story by going back to end of episode 1.

Gautam started having sensations about Sherly, Started thinking day and night about her, fantasying her beauty, her goodness, her flair. He was getting restless and wanted to break the shackles of silence.

He started making moves, approaches trying to find reasons to talk to Sherly,  She was smart to untangle Gautam’s intensions to which she started being more cautious and damn that!! Because it was making it even more frustrating not getting reaction despite noticeable actions. This was setting the notion quite clear to show intended suppression from Sherly. If her ignorance was property of a calculative mind rather unintended and that was creating shear doubt to Gautam.

Gautam created a scenario with perfect pretext to exchange their numbers. Communication started at a snail’s pace. Slowly they were getting comfortable. Gautam tried putting his feelings under covers of ducky words and presented to Sherly, and She was liking it too, Although few times she would pretend and cull to not respond, but it does happens with girls.     

It was all going well, but quite sluggish as if walking on a slack rope. The story was limping as it moved ahead. But Gautam was besotted with Sherly. His head was filled with thoughts about her cheek by jowl and there was no room to think anything else. He was having nightmares about the idea of finding his love. He was in turmoil whether the dreams will prove to be bogy or fact. He had almost gone Schizophrenic by the time, trying to connect every event, gestures and reactions by Sherly into meaningful information to prove his hallucination and on a second moment wander off.

In all of this turbulence, he made up his mind to propose her and he came up with most vacuous way to do so, on random day without any romance with infantile card with childish poem,  and bouquet without red rose, that’s what you expect from moronic nerd like Gautam. The proposal was too puzzled in itself to perceive it for being love, marriage or friendship proposal, how would a poor Sherly would uncover.

He was trying since morning to meet her in person and eventually succeed, both were as shy as fawn. Gautam, without a wait handed over the proposal in her hand and disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Later in night on a one side Gautam was playing the waiting game, but somehow he was so convinced that he has won the battle of love. On the other side Sherly opened the bag took out the flowers and had twinkle on his face, smile like Cheshire cat as she opened the envelope with card. She started reading and smile on her face started altering into worry.

That's when phone rang at Sherly’s Desk, It was “Rohit” on the caller’s name, Sherly received the call and told “Can I call you latter?” and hang up.

Gautam waited all night long for response for which he didn’t get any, with growing concern He attempted to ask her very next night.

“How did you find it??” Gautam unsure how to ask pushed a question.

“What??”, Sherly trying to act ignorant.

“Okay, I am talking about the proposal”, before Gautam could finish Sherly furiously jumped in to cut off Gautam ”This just isn’t right Gautam, You hardly know me to do this.”

“I know, may be too early but I am no dodger, I meant what I say and will stay besides my words till the end”

Gautam’s hand Shivered and beats gone up while typing this, good thing was Sherly could not see this.

“You don’t know me yet, you have got it all wrong” Shery said.

“But Why??” seeking the explanation Gautam asked.

“Because I am already in relationship” The last message was on 11.30 PM which made Gautam Stunned, because this was the worse and the last thing Gautam could have imagined about Sherly, where She and Rohit had been in relationship since 4 years. 

He had scoffing laugh at himself with loud voice of “HaHa!!” making fun of his own destiny. The grief of bygone days flashed through his gloomy eyes, with dispirited feeling he kept looking at his mobile till in morning without sleeping, scrolling up and down all of her messages trying to find something which he never knew, or which never existed except his hope!                   

Mind Magnet –Episode 2 - DP Change

Gautam has fallen head over heels in love with Sherly. In short time he had admired her, He dreamed of Girl being Pattern of beauty and virtue and there was she. One person’s dream is another person’s reality, as they say. Gautam always used to say, she was lucky for him not since he was kind superstitious, but her presence was favorable to his endurance. It was not just a beauty which delighted him, because he had seen enough of world to incline towards the charming face with equally alluring mind.

Gautam was hunting behind the clock as he wanted to get in time, It could then only was possible to have sight of her in a morning. Just when he reached, they caught each other’s eyes as they walked on by a coffee station in the office. Sherly could not hold her tendered smile. Gautam was elevated and had that same ironclad face when he sees her. His mind had sunk inside the love lake of her deep eyes. After a while he was back to his senses on tap at back by his collogue, by the time she had already left.

That same night, Gautam messaged her and praised her beauty, to which Sherly was thankful. Gautam Added,”I would never be able to gift diamond to someone, as the most precious ones are already taken!....  by your eyes”. “LOLZ” Sherly replied. “Thank you!” and a smiley she added after a while. After about 15 minutes, she changed her DP. Gautam did had that habit of abrupt waking at nights ever since he met this girl but That whole night He couldn’t sleep, time and again coming back to messenger to check out her pic.

Sherly was more a logical girl, to believe that compatibility is far more important than emotion. Furthermore She was from orthodox Keralite Christian family. Sherly loved her father and knew was difficult to convince him. Infact she had already been broken heart once to which her guilty feet would shiver to step ahead. All of these making her very much conscious giving away not a single hint which would make Gautam thought otherwise, as she cared for him more than her feeling and did not wanted him to go through the aftershocks of pain on the path.

Few days later Gautam Shared pic of her appraisement on social network in hope of being praised by her. He was dejected to not find a response. Just before midnight there come another DP change, He saw that, had a simper feeling as if nice coincidence and begun a fight with night.

Another night, they chatted in part and parcel, sensing this as an opportunity he send her a beautiful message with latent truth of her feelings. She acted uninterested, but something pushed her to act and

She replied at 11.59 PM about 35 minutes after Gautam’s insist to read the message. “Nice message”,

He replied 00.01 AM “Thanks for reading. ”

She messaged at 00.36 AM, A white smiling face.

Both stayed on for several minutes on their mobile with each other’s profile opened

Next day when Gautam opened messenger there was another DP change.

The story continued with this unusual friendship saga where its essence was choosing clueless prospect. Gautam knew he had no future with this, all he wanted to be a reason of smile for which he may be remembered, as one thing was sure, that he would never ever be able to forget her. But he wasn’t flimsy rather optimist to enjoy good time. On the other hand Sherly was adamant, feeling Gautam is too weak to handle “BIG NO” in future and would break down. And this was desisting one delightful plot.          

          

Mind Magnet –Episode 1 – Sneak peek

PS:-  The story and characters are work of fiction although there may be few sequences inspired by real characters but any resemblance to real life characters are just coincidence.

He had glint grinned face showing up his teeth. His curved up mouth couldn’t resist the euphoria. With that, Gautam was standing in a posture of proposing to her Girl. Ahhh..!! Her head slightly nipping towards left, arching down and the exterior eyelid were slowly ceasing in bashful manner. Instead of enjoying cordial moment, He got baffled at this. He was typical as he always flunked to decode the signals from her. J. He lingered over her to clutch her hands in period of laze in between. It was about her hand had started moving towards him, a yelling voice came from not far trembled him in shock.”Gautam, are you leaving your bed? its 8 already. ” And there the story departed before it unfold. He awake in the morning to find was all in vanity. With pleading face he revolted “Not again god, at least in my fantasy” with shake of the head he got up. He looked the clock ticking made him bustled.

They both used to work at same place and having known each other for about 6 months. They used to talk quite a lot, irony was most talking used to transpire through their eyes, Ohh!! And yes through messenger. They were may be masters in their own artistry but missed a crux to communicate most celestial motility of mankind, the affection, the love.

It all started when for some reason Gautam’s was assigned on task for which he had to temporary shifted to new place. Fate has brought two souls close to catch their attention. Gautam knew about gorgeously angel girl seated about 50 feet far facing towards him. Men will be men. J Thus, he enjoyed the beauty but he was shy and afraid of girls, focused more on work happy to be single and never bothered more about it. One day, he found the girl stole a glance at him. Soon he found out this wasn’t coincidence but every time she dropped her eyes immediately into ignorance very next moment. 

Gautam, pondered these events. That gave rise to spark of infatuation. So that night he used all his skills to find every minute detail about her and that was Gautam for you, once he is behind something he will conclude it to some result.

He found her name; it was Sherly Joseph, from Kerala.  From profile one could guess that she was not only beautiful but also had smart and intellectual head over her neck.   

On the other hand, Sherly was somewhat impressed by smiling and lively character of Gautam, He was quite friendly and easy with people too on the top his wisdom was gaining some popularity pushing few serious nice thoughts in her mind.

Real blow to Gautam’s heart took place when they confronted in office picnic. That gathering pared some distance. While playing a game Gautam screamed, “I don’t know how to play” to which her response came, “I know how to, I will teach you all”.  When the game ended “See didn’t I told you!” Sherly returned to team in pride but her vision stocked on Gautam. Then a few sneaked eye contact, few close crossovers, few words being exchanged, all of this probed Gautam to delve in the matter. He carefully noticed her over few more days. She would surprise him every time with the greatness of her qualities with which feelings were getting stronger.
